Hi Hurricanes Families!

With the season quickly approaching, we wanted to share all the details for this year’s swim team tryouts.

Tryout Dates

May 11th – May 15th

• Drop-in anytime between 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM at Christenbury Park Pool, in Highland Creek
• Families may come any day during that week, and swimmers are welcome to try out more than once if needed.

Who Needs to Try Out?

Tryouts are required for:

• Swimmers who are new to the team
• Swimmers who were on Pre-Team and would like to move up to the Competitive Team

Pre-Team Tryout Requirements

To qualify for Pre-Team, swimmers must be able to:

• Swim one length of the pool (25 meters)
• Without touching the bottom or side of the pool
• Any stroke (or non-stroke method) is acceptable

Competitive Team Tryout Requirements

To qualify for the Competitive Team, swimmers must be able to:

• Swim two lengths of the pool (50 meters)
• Without touching the side or bottom of the pool

Practice Information

• We are currently finalizing practice times based on registration numbers within each age group.
• Practice for all swimmers will officially begin on May 18th and will be held Monday through Friday.
