Hello, Hurricanes!

We are over halfway through the season! Things are really going to pick up with double senior meets the next few weeks, so get ready. This week is jam packed with lots of dates to remember so please read carefully!

SENIOR MEET 6/10

Our next meet will be away vs. Wynfield. Swimmer and Volunteer check in at 5pm, warm up at 5:30pm, meet start at 6pm.  Swimmers MUST be declared attending by Sunday, 6/9 by 9am. No exceptions!

Take I-77 North to exit 23. Turn left on Gilead Road heading west and cross over I-77 North. Turn right onto Wynfield Creek Parkway and the pool is on the left.

SWIMATHON

Our team fundraiser will be on Wednesday 6/12 during morning practices! This helps raise money for items to better serve the team and replace gear as it wears out. Swimmers will swim laps (I promise they do enjoy this) and each lap can earn a pledge or a flat rate donation. Families can print the sponsor form below. It is a really fun event for kids, you don’t want to miss out!

SENIOR MEET 6/13

On Thursday we will have our meet vs. MacAuley at HOME. Swimmer and Volunteer check in 4:30-5pm, warm up at 5pm, meet start at 6pm.

Swimmers MUST be declared attending by Wednesday 6/12, by 9am. No exceptions!

SPEEDY MEET 6/15

Our next speedy meet is HOME vs. Peninsula and Hamptons.

MEET BEHAVIOR AND EXPECTATIONS

Reminder to all swimmers and spectators, please be sure to clean up your area before leaving.

Swimmers don’t forget your items and be sure to not grab someone’s item by mistake. The lost and found box is getting full! Please come check to see if anything belongs to you.

All children who are participating in the meet must stay on the pool deck for the duration of the meet. Aside from restrooms and concessions. It is nearly impossible to track kids down to line up for events when they are outside the perimeter.

Swimmers are asked to be respectful to their teammates, coaches, and volunteers. We ask you to listen for your event and line up, cheer on your teammates, and exhibit good sportsmanship! Have fun!

We also ask that all friends, family, etc. stay in the spectator area for home meets and not sit with the swimmers. When we are searching for swimmers to race, it is much more difficult when outside guest are mingling. Swimmers you may go to the spectator area to visit. 

Don’t forget to check the ribbon folders for your child’s name to gather their ribbons as the season progresses.

VOLUNTEERS

Thank you to those who have responded to the need to fill upcoming volunteer positions. We still have a large number of positions to fill this season and appreciate you all signing up for 4 shifts per family. If you can not do your volunteer shift please let us know in advance as each job is imperative to the meet running smoothly.
