Welcome to the 2022 HC Hurricanes Swim Season!
Good evening HCH swim team families!
This is just a friendly reminder that our season begins tomorrow...Monday, May 16th! We are excited to meet our new swimmers and reunite with those who are returning! Here are a few quick reminders:
1. Pool Address - For those who are new to our team and may not know, our tryouts, practices and home meets will take place at the Christenbury Pool. The official address is 6213 Bell's Mill Drive but you can also access the parking lot from Christenbury Road directly across from Grandeur Rd.
2. Try outs - If your swimmer is brand new to the team OR moving from Junior to Senior team, they will need to attend a try out session from 4-4:30pm on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (5/16-5/18) of the first week of practice. Once they have successfully completed their try out, they are good to join at their regularly scheduled practice time. If they do not pass on the first try, they are welcome to come back and try again.
- To try out for JUNIOR team (ages 10&under only) - The swimmer must swim one length of the pool without assistance (25 yards any stroke.) Junior team members will swim in the "Speedy Meets" on Saturday mornings.
- To try out for SENIOR team (any age) - The swimmer must swim one complete lap without assistance (50 yards any stroke.) Senior team members will swim in regulation meets (Monday and Thursday evenings.)
