Updates for home meets (Saturday and Monday)
Dear Highland Creek Hurricanes:
With other teams in the league having decided to allow parents on deck during meets, we have decided to do the same starting with tomorrow morning’s speedy meet (swimmer report time 8:15 a.m.). There is still plenty of space around the pool (and in the shade!) for families who prefer that option.
For Monday’s first home regulation (senior) meet, the coaches have asked that you adhere to the following policies:
First shift (10-and-under) swimmers should report to the pool at 4:45 p.m. No parents will be allowed on deck before this time. Swimmers must stay with the team and coaches for their shift. They should NOT go sit with their parents during the meet. When they have finished their events, they should check with Coach Rader to make sure they are done and clean up after themselves before leaving. (Swimmers left a lot of trash and personal items at River Run last night.)
Second shift (11-and-over) swimmers should report to the pool at 6:45 p.m. They and their parents should NOT go onto the pool deck until the first-shift swimmers and parents have left the deck. (Older swimmers with younger siblings can watch the first shift with their parents, but not from the swimmer staging area.) Swimmers must stay with the team and coaches for their shift. When they have finished their events, they should check with Coach Rader to make sure they are done and clean up after themselves before leaving.
All swimmers should come to the pool with their event/heat/lane assignments written on their legs or arms and with their name and Swimmingly roster number written on their back shoulder.
Finally, we will be selling drinks, candy, PDQ cards, and swim caps on Monday evening at the concession stand. PDQ will also be there to sell boxed meals. And team sponsor Abbott’s will be selling frozen custard with 10% of proceeds going back to the team.
Go Hurricanes!
