Dear Highland Creek Hurricanes:

As we near the end of our second week of practice, we have several important updates. Please read these instructions carefully!

Time trials: Swimmers will be timed in different events during practice tomorrow (Thursday, May 27) to help coaches determine event assignments for the first meet. Make-ups will be Tuesday.

Memorial Day: There will be no practice on Monday, May 31.

Photos: The team photo will be taken at Christenbury Pool on Wednesday, June 2, at 5:30 p.m. Please have your swimmer wear a black suit (team suit if you have one). No practices will be held that day. The photographer will be available for individual/family photos starting at 4:30 p.m. and then again after the team photo. Families can order photos directly from the photographer (more information to come).

Swimmer sign-outs:

11-and-over swimmers: If your swimmer(s) will not be able to attend a Monday evening regulation meet, you must sign them out using the “Meet Entry” button for that meet on Swimtopia. If you do not sign out your swimmer by the previous Tuesday, the coaches will assume they are available for individual events and relays as they make the heat sheet.

10-and-under swimmers: These swimmers can participate in Saturday morning junior team “speedy” meets or Monday evening senior team regulation meets (or both!) depending on their swimming ability (contact the coach if you’re unsure).

• Speedy meets (junior team) do not require sign-ups in advance. All swimmers who show up have the opportunity to swim 25-yard individual events in each stroke (and they can skip any stroke they want). There are no disqualifications and every swimmer gets ribbons.
• Regulation meets (senior team) require the coaches to put together heat sheets with individual swimmers assigned to specific events. If you do not want your swimmer(s) to participate in any or all senior regulation meets, please sign them out using the “Meet Entry” button for that meet(s) on Swimtopia. If you do not sign out your swimmer, the coaches will assume they are available for individual events and relays. All individual events for 10-and-under swimmers are 25 yards/meters (except the 100m individual medley).

Swimmingly: The league has adopted a new timing system that allows timers to use their own cell phones to time the swimmer in their lane. Times will automatically upload to the Swimmingly system, eliminating the need to write down each and every time and enter them individually into a computer. Parents of all swimmers who will be participating in Monday evening senior team regulation meets must follow the instructions below to get their swimmer(s) into the Swimmingly system. The team is covering the cost so you should not have to pay anything to add your swimmer. (If your swimmer is only swimming Saturday morning speedy meets, please do NOT enroll them in Swimmingly to save the team from having to pay the cost of their account.)

3. Choose the swim season you want to sign your children up for!
4. Select your children. If you have any children that are new to the team or that you don't see listed, you can click the 'Add Swimmer' button to add them.
5. Click submit!
6. Pay the Swimmingly membership fee for your season where applicable
7. That's it! Your children are ready for a fun swim season.
